Baby This Will Be My Year (or The Obligatory New Year Post, 2014)

This year, I'll be graduating college... Yay! That would be five years of keyboard and math slaving.

Then, I'll finally write that story that has been in my head since 2012.

And I'll be running and swimming and boxing that I will always be sore almost every day.

The Obligatory End of the Year Post, 2013

Of course, I'm gonna be doing this post. It's an additional accomplishment for this year for me and additional post for this blog.

Another 'of course,' I'm gonna be talking about how my 2013 was. So here goes nothing everything the moments, feelings, happenings, things that I can remember...

I want to write, code and create. I can't just be doing one of those for the rest of my life.

My love life is still non-existent. Sometimes I'm okay with that. Sometimes not. Actually, I still haven't felt 'the connection' with anyone. You know, that tingly-sparkly-cue-in-fireworks feeling. It scares me that maybe he-who-must-not-be-named has taken away all of my pheromones. What?!

My high school friends and I will be friends for life. Because Charlie quoted someone saying friendships that passed the seven year mark are likely to last forever. That's really good to know. Take out the 'likely.' We'll last forever.

I will always be mommy's girl. She went on a vacation here for a month and, the baby that I am, I slept with her just like the old times. And I still cried when she went back to Texas. Damn, I miss her.

Okay. I think that's about it. My mind is flat-lined now. I can't think of anything else. I'll try to make my life exciting next year so I'll have something to post here.

Alone in Middle Earth

I can't remember how many times I've tried to watch LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring. And in all those times, I never got to the middle. There was something s...l...o...w about it.

But I have seen the Two Towers. It was pretty good even though I didn't really watch the first movie. The fight scenes were all bad-ass specially the one in the battlefield (that's all I can remember but I know they were bad-ass).

I haven't seen the third one...

Then came The Hobbit movie. The first one. Now you see, I read The Hobbit book many, many years ago. That means I can't remember what's in there but it made me want to watch the movie adaptation (after a year it was released). It was okay because they just 'journeyed' through the movie. What caught me was the end, or the 'there will be a sequel' beginning.

I've seen the trailer and now I've seen the movie. Alone. Uh-huh. Today was my first time watching a movie alone. But it was worth it, and I might do it again. I sat eye-level to the screen and in the middle-of-the-row chair. It felt like I own the theater.

So, the Desolation of Smaug... Unicorns. On the scale of 1 to ten, it's 15. Take the Two Towers and multiply its bad-ass-ness to 100. It was so good. Awesome. Epic. The fight scenes, ugh. And then those sexy elves (no, I'm not a fan of Legolas but Thranduil... hands down.) and Bard (heart!) and ugly orcs and Smaug (that dragon is so full of himself). I fear for the people of Lake-town. Please December 2015 come quick.

Incubating Our New "Baby"

My sister and I decided to try our hands in business t-o-g-e-t-h-e-r. I'm so excited I already bought a domain and created a Facebook and Twitter page for it.

The baby is named Muse Theories. Actually, I was to use that last year as a title for a creative sovereignty blog but that project was put on hold. Then earlier this week while we were brainstorming names for the business, out of the five we came up with, sister thought 'Muse Theories' sounds good (Oh, there's a story behind the name. Maybe I'll write it in a separate post). And so it was registered...

We're planning for it to be an online clothing store of hand-painted muscle tee because we both love muscle tees. We'll see how big that love grows.

The Great Blogging Hiatus

...has happened again because commitment is a hard thing for me.

There was a recently opened Korean noodle bar near our university and some friends and I decided to try it out.

We went for one of their best sellers where the only food I can identify is the kimchi.

I had crab sticks for toppings and the noodle soup tops my spicy meter. I'm a fan of spicy food and I can tolerate better than some people but this one got my head numb and my lips swelling red. You need to have something to drink in handy because trust me, it exceeds 'spicy' a little.

Oh, and this comes in handy when you can't stand the noodle's soup anymore. I had mine soaking in toyo and calamansi. It tastes so good and takes away some of the spiciness.

All in all, we went home with a happy tummy. Have I mentioned they have ice cream that you'll surely want to have some after eating all of the above?

I'm looking forward to trying something else from their menu :)

Busy Bee

The best excuse I can come up with for not posting here is I'm busy... at least for the last week. Well, aside from that, my life is just a combo of school-home-school-home routine.

I started my faux-internship last February 13 and so far it's going good. The commute from home is almost two hours including the train ride which can be a little exhausting. Plus an additional half-a-kilometer walk to the office. I'm not complaining though because I like the work that is assigned on me: designing the company's web site. I can say "I love my job." And it got me to thinking about starting a web shop online *wink, wink.*

School has gone rad. We have lots of projects to do and it's almost March. Which means just a month before vacation. Exactly how are we going to squeeze in everything within a month? Clueless here.
